The Southeast Region A.O. Employment Services
provide many services to the Bootheel community.
Located in Dunklin, Pemiscot, New Madrid and Mississippi
counties, A.O. Employment Services provides:
• Supportive Services
• Career Management
• Tuition Assistance
• On the Job Training opportunities
• Work Experience Training opportunities
• Volunteer opportunities


The Adult Program is designed
to meet the employers needs by helping job seekers
upgrade skills, obtain employment, improve job
retention and increase earnings. The Adult Worker
Program offers a range of services that are designed
to assist adults that are 18 years or older and
are seeking employment. Through the Adult Program,
we are able to help with job search and placement,
résumé writing, job counseling,
assessment of job skills and achievement testing.
Eligibility for the Adult Program:
Must be a current US citizen over the age of 18,
registered with the Selective Service. Customer
eligibility is based upon criteria established
by the Workforce Investment Act and is generally
based on economic criteria which must be presented
to and verified by our staff. The program is funded
through the Workforce Investment Act which is
administered by our local Workforce Investment
Board.
Area Served: Dunklin, Pemiscot,
Mississippi, New Madrid and Scott Counties.
The Dislocated Worker Program
is available to qualifying individuals who have
received an official layoff or closure notice.
Dislocated Workers can receive help with job search
and placement, résumé writing, assessment
of goals, skills and interest inventories, academic
testing, on-the-job training, educational assistance
and many other services. These services are free
of charge.
Eligibility for the Dislocated Worker
Program: Must be a current US citizen
or eligible Non-citizen, registered with the Selective
Service and have had employment terminated by
lay off, plant closure or natural disaster.
Career Assistance Program (CAP)
provides services to participants required to
participate in a work or training activity in
order to continue to receive temporary assistance
benefits. These services may include job search
and placement, résumé writing, job
counseling and more.
Eligibility for the Career Assistance
Program: Individuals must be receiving
temporary assistance from the Family Services
Division for a referral. Participants will be
required to participate in a work, training or
volunteer activity to continue to receive benefits.
Funding for these programs is provided by state
and federal grants through the Southeast Region
Workforce Investment Board.
