Brooke Care, a division of Alternative Opportunities, Inc, is dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities achieve meaningful lives through community membership and personal growth. We balance health and safety with a person’s desire to achieve his or her hopes and dreams.
Services offered:
- Individualized Supported Living (ISL)
- Day Habilitation
- Personal Assistance
We can also provide respite, vocational preparation, consultation, and other education and training as needed.
Areas Served
Brooke care provides services in the following Missouri counties: Douglas, Ozark, Wright, Webster, Texas, Laclede, Greene, Stone, Christian, and Taney.
Individualized Supported Living (ISL)
ISL’s are designed for adults with developmental disabilities who desire to move from an institution, or their family’s home, into their own house or apartment, but need additional support to do so. Brooke Care provides the assistance necessary for individuals to maintain their homes and take care of personal needs such as cooking, cleaning, bathing, doing laundry, budgeting money and taking medications.
We also provide:
- Well-trained, well supervised support staff
- 24 hour, on-call coverage
- Medical support team
The number of support staff hours depend upon the needs of each person being served. Some individuals receive support 24 hours a day, while others need much less.
Day Habilitation
Day Habilitation is provided for individuals who want to learn life skills and actively pursue goals. The hours of service provided are based on what a person wants to learn or achieve.
Some typical activities pursued in this program are:
- Learning Personal Skills
- Laundry
- Grocery Shopping
- Budgeting money
- Assistance with medical and additional appointments
- Recreational and social activities
Personal Assistance
Our Personal Assistance services are designed for those individuals who simply need additional assistance with personal care (meals, laundry, etc) in their home. This service is not meant for individuals who are in Day Habilitation or who are actively trying to learn new skills.
