Youth Services
Our Purpose: To help every youth obtain their Diploma/GED and choose a career.


The Workforce Investment Act Youth Service Program provides year-round case management services to prepare youth for the 21st century workforce. This preparation comes in the form of education and training. Our goal is to help every youth obtain their Diploma/GED and then choose a career. By promoting occupational training and post-secondary education we can help youth make their career plans a reality!

Some of the services we offer include:

  • Career exploration and guidance through assessments and job shadowing
  • Year-round work experience opportunities
  • Leadership development in the form of community service projects
  • Job search assistance as well as instruction with interviewing and resume writing
  • Personal and skill development through workshops and activities
  • Teaching self-advocacy through mentoring
Who is Eligible
Youth between the ages of 16-21 who are 1) low income and 2) are in one of the following categories: school drop out, homeless, runaway, foster child, pregnant/parenting, offender, or basic skills deficient (reading and/or math at or below the 8th grade level).

Funding for Services
Funding comes from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. Funds reach us locally through the Workforce Investment Boards.
